Heng Hainanese Chicken Rice@Melaka.

The weekend crowds that swarmed and queued to eat boiled Chicken and rice balls in Jonker Street is
a hot and sweaty affairs and too touristy.

I would not do that even if, it's for free !

We found a quieter and not too crowdy place (nearby our hotel) to savor both farmed boiled chicken/roast chicken with 30 pieces of firm, round and fluffy rice balls and a good red chillies sauce for dip.

Plus another three side dishes i.e. nutritious black bean/chicken feet soup, stir fried crunchy Chinese round cabbage and a clay pot of spicy and sourish Assam Senangin (Threadfin) chunks with assorted vegetables.

A great and wholesome meal and reasonably priced.

Parking is ample.

Yin Yong chicken-soft and tender.

Hand rolled round rice balls-kept warm in a rice cooker.

Chinese round cabbage-sweet and crunchy
Assam Senangin fish chunks-fresh and sourish to prep up our appetite.

Black Beans soup with chicken feet-well boiled but a bit diluted.

Spicy red chillies sauce and a bottle of thick dark soy sauce.

Heng's the place to go. They share similar recipe to the one in Jonker Street..They are family, so I always prefer this one given the availability of parking bay here.
